Handiwork Media had the honor of weaving a visual narrative for Beverly Smith, a mixed-media fiber artist deeply rooted in the Southern tradition of quilt-making. Commissioned to exhibit her art at the Grace AME Zion Church, Beverly unearthed a profound connection—her great cousin, often spoken of, had ministered within these very walls. Moved by this connection and her ancestral heritage, she sought a production team who could tell this unique story. Our collaboration brought to life a film that not only showcased her art but also echoed the rich tapestry of her family’s legacy—a story interlaced with history, art, and spiritual kinship, all captured within the sanctuary that once echoed her great cousin’s voice.
